Pre-treatment preparation

Before your radiesse body filler - chest, arms, hands, hip dips and abdomen

• No dental cleanings 2 weeks before AND after treatment.
• Please wait 4 weeks after any vaccination.
• No surgeries within 4 weeks of procedure.
• No antibiotics within 2 weeks of service.
• No steroid medications within 2 weeks.
• It is recommended to discontinue the use of Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week before AND after treatment to minimize bruising or bleeding.
• Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplements, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods, and cigarettes 24-48 hours before AND after your treatment (all of these factors may increase risk of bruising and swelling).
• If you have a special event or vacation coming up, please keep in mind that you may want to schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks in advance.
• If you develop a cold/flu, cold sore, blemish, or rash, etc. in the area to be treated prior to your appointment, we recommend that you please reschedule your appointment until it resolves.
• It is recommended that you wait at least 2 weeks before AND after botulinum toxin or filler treatments for other cosmetic treatments with laser, ultrasound, peels, facials or micro-derm.
• It's recommended to discontinue Retin-A for 3 days before AND after treatment to avoid increased redness/irritation.
• Ensure your skin is clean without lotion, oil, makeup, powder, perfume or sunscreen on the day of treatment.

Aftercare

After your radiesse body filler - chest, arms, hands, hip dips and abdomen

• Do not lie down flat or touch, rub the treatment area for at least 4 hours post treatment.
• Radiesse is moldable for 1 week post treatment, sleep on your back to avoid movement of product.
• Try to avoid wearing makeup, hats or helmets for 24 hours post treatment to allow the site to heal.
• Clients should not schedule any vaccination or invasive procedures for 2 weeks before or after treatment with Radiesse. These include but are not limited to:
  • COVID vaccine or Flu Vaccine
  • Dental cleaning or dental work
  • Surgery of any kind, including lesion excision or biopsy
  • Tattoo or permanent makeup
• Bruising, soreness and swelling are all common post treatment and are self-resolving.
• Ice the treatment area 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off as needed for 24 hours post treatment.
• Radiesse is a biostimulant so will continue to stimulate collagen production for approximately 3 months post treatment.
• Post Midface/Cheek injections, avoid submerging your head under water for 24 hours post treatment.
• Please report immediately if you have increased pain, swelling, redness or blisters following treatment.
• If you experience any vision changes post filler treatment, please report to the nearest Urgent Care/ED.
